An abstract image of a ‘Lionel Fortescue’ through the use of camera motion during exposure. Today I wanted to share how I am progressing in my pursuit of a photograph as an ‘impression’ of a time and place rather then ‘record’.

A Floral Image | Wow didn’t we have a lovely March here in Ireland! Spring seems to be about Cherry Blossoms now more then Tulips, at least where I live.
An Dublin Seascape | A Black and White image of a lighthouse close to Bullock Harbour in Dalkey, Dublin seems to float upon a calm sea as a hint of clouds float by overhead.
A Dublin Landscape | I took a refreshing if somewhat blustery hike in the Dublin Mountains on Monday. At the summit it was wild with high winds and constantly changing light as the clouds rushed overhead.
Spring is here! While I love what every season brings, Spring offers something truly special. This image above captures the very essence of that new life for me. The bud of a new flower literally bursting from the ground. The dead brown leaves surrounding the vibrant pink flower stem acting as a classic juxtaposition – winter/death vs spring/life.
A Dublin Seascape | A single rock protrudes from the ocean standing silent watch near Dun Laoghaire, Harbour in Dublin, Ireland | It feels great to be publishing my very 1st image of 2012 today.
A Floral Image | A close-up image of a Calla Lily flower showing the detailing and texture of the white petals. Back in June last year I shared an image of a Calla Lilly called Hidden from Sight that eventually made it into my Top 10 Favourite images of 2011. Today I wanted to share another composition from that same session.
Well firstly let me start off by wishing you all a very happy New Year. One of the images that made it into my Top 10 for last year was a piece entitled A Line of Crocuses which I originally shared with you in March. I’d like to share an alternate composition of the same subject with you today.
Well here we stand at the very edge of 2011; 2012 just within sight. It’s that time of year again; and as promised last week and again on Tuesday I am sharing my personal Top 10 favourite images from this year.
February, yup February is when I took this image. I actually shared an image I took of this Rhododendron back in April but had this version siting in my Aperture Library waiting for some love and attention. Well I made sure it got that today and wanted to share the final result with you. There is something quite special about a pure white flower; the delicacy and amazing texture of the petals. I hope you enjoy.
