Framed Print by John Dunne.
INTRODUCTION

The final printed image is the culmination of my journey in creating a piece of artwork that represents my view of the world around me. I take a great deal of pride in every print I produce; I want you to be equally happy. Signed Fine Art Giclée prints of my photographic images are available exclusively through this website, including framing options.

No matter how often it happens, I still get a thrill in knowing a customer has chosen to hang a piece of my artwork in their home or business. This page is set up to inform you about every facet of how I produce my prints, how they are matted and framed; right down to the care I take in packaging and shipping the final piece to you. Visit my gallery to find all of my Landscape and Fine Art photographs of Ireland and around the world.

THE PRINT

An image of me signing one of my original Prints from John Dunne Photography by John Dunne. I work closely with my local Fine Art Printer who has over 20 years of experience serving the printing needs of the Fine Art Photographic Industry. We choose from only the finest Hahnemühle papers and select the best paper finish for each individual print. Every print is produced on state of the art Epson Inkjet Printers using only original Epson inks. The combination of light fast pigment inks and heavy-weight (285~325gsm ) fine art, archival papers ensure that the print will provide lasting enjoyment and pleasure for decades to come. Each print is personally inspected and signed by me prior to shipment.

THE MATTE

An image of me signing the Matte from one of my original Prints from John Dunne Photography by John Dunne. Daler Rowney “Snow White” mount board is used, which has a clean white, slightly textured finish that adds a real dimensionality to my prints. Each board is lignin-free, alkaline-sized, pH neutral and is calcium carbonate buffered to enhance its useful lifespan by minimising the effect of atmospheric pollutants. I use archival quality acid free mounting tapes and fixtures to mount my prints. In fact my mounting process ensures no adhesives touch the print itself, again maximising print longevity. I personally matte every print to ensure the highest quality is maintained. You can find out more about how I matte in this Blog Article

THE FRAME

An image of a finished Framed print Print from John Dunne Photography by John Dunne. I use bespoke solid wood frames that have a wonderful subtle wood grain texture. Each frame is finished in a mid-brown or black colour depending on the print. When offered a chose the vast majority of my customers always select a natural wood finish. Each frame uses industry standard 2mm Optical Glass and backboard. The back of each frame is finished in a brown kraft paper, with piano wire hangers and cork bumpers to add the final professional touch. I personally frame every print to ensure the highest quality is maintained. You can find out more about how I frame in this Blog Article

PACKING

An image of a Matted print with all the materials I use to carefully package it before it's shipped to a customer. by John Dunne. While the Printing, Matting and Framing of a Fine Art print is critically important so is the way it is packaged. I ship prints all over the world and I apply the same level of care and attention to detail to ensure every print arrives to you in perfect condition.

Smaller prints are sandwiched between wrapping tissue and two rigid pieces of cardboard. The cardboard sheets are at least 2 inches bigger then the print to ensure it is protected while in transit. Larger prints are carefully rolled in wrapping tissue and placed in a rigid postal tube. I add my own custom shipping warning labels to ensure the postman or courier knows to handle with care, not to bend or get the package wet. This approach ensures the safety of the package during transit, and that it arrives to you in pristine condition.

For a framed print I follow a similar approach by sandwiching the frame between two pieces of rigid card board at least 2 inches bigger then the frame all around. The space between the cardboard and the frame is filled with a bio-degradable void fill to protect the frame, and then taped using heavy duty clear tape. This package is then placed inside a box which is again at least two inches larger then the package all the way around. The box is filled with the same bio-degradable void fill. Finally I add my own custom shipping warning labels to ensure the postman or courier knows the package is fragile and contains glass, and therefore should not be dropped or get wet. This double-boxing ensures the safety of the package during transit, and that it arrives to you in pristine condition.
