I spent this weekend with Family down in our usual log cabins at Skeagh Lake in County Cavan. I came across this tiny buttercup almost lost inside tall blades of lush green grass that were drenched after a downpour an hour earlier.

Both of these images remind me of the famous line from Walter de la Mer’s poem “The Listeners” – Of the forest’s ferny floor.
