My first Black and White image for some time, my last being Perfect White back in August. I loved the way this flower had just a single leaf which led up to the flower head. This was also shot in Botanical Gardens on the same day as my Sunflower image on Saturday last. Camera: Canon…
After my morning catching the sunrise in Lough Tay last week I decided to round out the day with a trip to one of my favorite places, the Botanical Gardens here in Dublin. They have a great cafe that does a mean cappuccino and some very nice cakes 🙂 The gardens has planted a wonderful kids…
The sun peaks above the mountains to throw a shaft of early morning light upon the the rain soaked cliffs that stand guard around Lough Tay in Wicklow, Ireland. A 5am rise, now that we are heading into winter I get to have a lie in for my sunrise excursions, unlike to ungodly hour of 3 a.m. during the summer months.
I have already posted a series of Floral images over the last couple of weeks on the back of my recent visit to the Japanese Gardens. As I mentioned in my very 1st post along with the gardens the site houses our National Stud and Saint Fiachra’s Garden which offers woodland and lakeside walks. This…
Another image from my my recent visit to the Japanese Gardens, this time of an Echinacea Flower. I noted my blog was looking decidedly yellow recently since I have posted the Black Eyed Susans on their own, with a little Hover Fly, a Bumble Bee and before that I posted Yellow on Green from my trip…
Another image from my my recent visit to the Japanese Gardens, and for anyone following the blog you will no doubt recognise this flower. As I discussed in a recent post I took my maps of Dublin and Wicklow out last week to scan for possible new locations to shoot. I came across what appeared, on paper at least, to be a viable Waterfall near Glenmalure named Ess. Unfortunately a 45min drive and a 3k hike proved to be…
I talked on Tuesday about my recent visit to the Japanese Gardens when I posted the first image from that trip, a yellow flower which I now know is called a “Black Eyed Susan” thanks to @ShebaJo over on Twitter. I mentioned during that last post that there was a riot of colour with many flowers…
I took a trip up to our Japanese Gardens based in Kildare last Friday. It has been over two years since I last visited the gardens so it was high-time for a return visit. Along with the gardens the site houses our National Stud and Saint Fiachra’s Garden which offers woodland and lakeside walks. I…
Wow that went by fast! Hard to believe its over for another year. Another thoroughly enjoyable weekend and I just wanted to say a big thanks to all those who popped by to say hello over the last couple of days.
Hard to believe a full year has gone by since the last Peoples Photography Exhibition. This will be my 3rd year exhibiting (2008 & 2009) and it is a weekend I thoroughly enjoy. Once I have made it through the busy week running up to it I find it a weekend of complete relaxation. It…
I took my maps of Dublin and Wicklow out yesterday morning to scan for possible new locations to shoot. I came across what appeared, on paper at least, to be a viable Waterfall near Glenmalure named Ess. So I packed my gear and headed out there. An hour later I was pulling into the closest…
