Another image from my walk around the gardens at our place near Orihuela in the south of Spain. These snails were everywhere clinging to anything that might provide life giving moisture. Like the previous images this was handheld using the Canon 100mm Macro @ f/2.8 and ISO400. Pretty tricky to focus right when your dealing…
The first from a series I will be publishing from my recent trip to Spain in September. Here I have published two images that are almost identical apart from a subtle difference in focal points. These were both shot handheld @ f2.8, so have a depth of field of just a few millimetres. There was…
Well that’s it for another year. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend of good coffee, great company, good coffee, chatting to passers bye, good coffee, selling a few prints, oh and good coffee. It certainly proved brisker trade then last year with plenty of customers leaving the railings of St Stephen’s Green happily with a nice print…
Well it’s hard to believe Peoples Photography has come around again. It’s been a full year since my first foray and I feel a lot more prepared this time round, both in terms of the caliber of my images and my general preparations. This year I really focused on the quality of the end product…
A second batch of images from the picturesque Kilruddery House & Gardens. This time all but one of the images are from my 2nd visit in early August. If you look really closely you may notice a trend in today’s images. No? Ok then they’re all of Lilies. The gardens contain a very large pond…
Well yet again an unintended extended break, although this time just from actually publishing images as I have managed to get out on several occasions over the last few months including two trips to Amsterdam and two to Kilruddery House & Gardens. This is the first batch from my visit to Kilruddery House & Gardens…
Working through a back catalog at the moment, this is from a visit to the Zoo back in April. I find these creatures fascinating and incredibly expressive. Seeing the juveniles play while the mother seemed somewhat lost struck me as a very human like behavior.
I ventured up to Wicklow on the advise of an avid walker who described this region as reminiscent of Vietnam, with it’s rolling hills fading into a misty background. It was a very windy evening and I was very exposed to the elements during these shots but I think it was worth it. I hope…
The good folks over at Canon Blogger as part of Jason’s excellent Learning Digital Photography ran a competition last month after Episode 22 where he interviewed Tom, Hogarty, Senior Product Manager for Adobe Lightroom. The folks at Adobe were good enough to provide Jason with a copy of Lightroom for the winner. And to my…
I took a trip down to Bull Island here in Dublin to capture what appeared at the time to be a guaranteed beautiful sunset. However as often happens here in Ireland the clouds swooped in around the setting sun at the last minute. However not deterred I waited until the sun had fully set to…
The last in a series of images from my trip to our local Botanical Gardens here in Dublin. I was lucky enough to happen upon these just after they had been watered. They’re an incredible vibrant yellow.
The 3rd in a series of images from my trip on Saturday to our local Botanical Gardens here in Dublin. This is not the first time I have shot this Orchid as I managed to capture it during a visit to the gardens last year also. This is one of the most fascinating Orchids for…
