Well here we stand at the very edge of 2011; 2012 just within sight. It’s that time of year again; and as promised last week and again on Tuesday I am sharing my personal Top 10 favourite images from this year. As it has proved every year I have done this since 2008 (2009 & 2010) it has not been an easy task. While I may not have published as many images this year vs 2010 (which I discussed on Tuesday in my Year in Review article) it still proved difficult.
The final set is a fairly even spread across Landscapes, Seascapes and Floral Macro pieces in addition to being spread throughout the year. I was delighted to see that two images from my Donegal trip featured in my final selection and can not wait to share more from that trip with you as we step in to 2012. I was also happy to see that a number of more abstract floral images also made it into the final list. This was something I begun to experiment with this year and plan to do more in 2012. The 40 foot in Dublin is a very well photographed location but I do feel I captured something unique with my visit there a couple of months ago and new very early on in my selection process that it would make it to the final 10. As I did with my 1st nightscape that I only published a few weeks ago, there is something quite magical in capturing the night-sky and I have already planned several more locations for next year. And finally, I found it interesting when reviewing this final selection that all 3 of the panoramic images I produced in 2011 made it into the list, I guess I need to make special note of this as I step into 2012.
So there you have it, my own personal 10 favourties for 2010. It proved a busy year commercially but that did not stop me from producing personal pieces that I am very proud of. I am very excited about 2012 and how I will continue to refine both my craft and vision. Indeed planning is well under way and you will see some fairly significant changes very early on in the new year that I can’t wait to share with you. There is a clue in the way I have presented these image for one of those changes 😉
Until we meet in 2012 I’d just like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year!
