Well firstly a very happy new year to everyone. It’s Day 4 of 2011 already. I thought I’d kick this year off with something a little different for me. It’s not quite an abstract but certainly closer to it then I’ve ever published before. This was taken 1/1/11 at around 1pm :). The alternate title I had for this image was the ‘Bokeh Monster’ for obvious reasons.
The image was shot handheld and the camera was positioned low and looking up to gather as much of that soft winter sunlight in the background as possible. I used an aperture of f/6.3 to get as much of the foreground branches in focus. I also used a flash held off camera left to add some additional light on the branches so as to counterbalance the strong back-light from the sun.
Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Lens: Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
Exposure: 1/100
Aperture: f/6.3
Focal Length: 100mm
ISO Speed: 200
Nice! it reminds me of the lights of a christmas tree. Very apropriate for the season, well seen. Happy new year! Regards,
Thanks Iñaki, and a very happy new year to you also.
