We are back to Kerry today, and indeed Winter 2014, with this image. Lough Acoose would not be considered part of the Killarney National Park, but it’s close enough for us to anchor it there.
It’s important to note, for any wouldbe visitors, the lake is on private property so you are not allowed enter without prior permission. Located at the very edge of the lake, close to the road is an old boat shed, which itself is very picturesque. However it is this bare tree, the calm lake and the Macgillycuddy’s Reeks behind that drew me in. I’ve visited this location several times since, in different seasons, and I think the bare winter branches still appeal to me the most.
