”The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.” ~ Jacques Yves Cousteau
Earlier last month a released an image entitled Apart which was captured at Greystones in Co. Wicklow. In the post I mentioned it had been over two years since I visited this location, and just like on that last occasion I left last month with the promise to return. Unlike 2010 however it did not take 2 years to return but just one month as I found myself standing on the beach last Saturday morning. Well not found myself exactly, it’s not as if I had a memory lapse or anything!
Conditions though were looking pretty appalling however. While the rest of Ireland was breaking out their BBQ’s and celebrating the cloudless skies I was sitting on the beach wondering how I was going to produce the moody long exposure I had visualised. You see Cloudless Skies are not something an Irish Photographer needs to deal with that often. So after an hour or so I decided to go get some breakfast. I should never have worried however because as I was tucking into my eggs and bacon I watched out the window as clouds swept in overhead. As everyone around me looked miserable I had a very big smile on my face.
