“In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.” ~ Khalil Gibran
I visited the Inishowen region of Donegal in the middle of April this year with a good friend and fellow photographer. The reason for being at that particular location was to meet up with some other photographers for a Photowalk organised through Google+, though we chose to spend a weekend there. I talked a bit about the experience on the first image I published from that weekend entitled Sunset at Dunaff Bay and then a little more on some of the subsequent images.
The image I wanted to share today is actually from that same sunset and about 20 minutes before the previously mentioned image. This was shot from the beach and so was a lot more accessible and therefore safer then the vantage point I took to shoot Sunset at Dunaff Bay. At this time the sun was low in the sky and peaking from behind the clouds, drenching everything in beautiful soft and diffused golden light. The wind was relatively high and was whipping up the spray from the sea. I was very taken with how the 3 rocks, each one bigger then the next, lead your eye out to sea and decided to work a composition around these elements, the dense cloud above them and the side lighting of that setting sun. I hope you like it.
Fantastic shot John. Great light and love the movement in the water.
Thanks Greig, I’m delighted you like the image.
Thank you so much Judie, I appreciate that.
