My 6 days spent in Donegal last September proved to be a hugely successful trip for me photographically speaking. I have already produced 8 images to date and today present the 9th. I’m also delighted to say that I still have some additional images I plan to produce from that same trip. Why is it taking so long, its been 6 months already? Good question. While some images will leap out at you and you will make a connection straight away with others you need need to sit with them a while. While I was clear what was in my minds eye at the time of capture, producing a finish piece need time and patience and should not be rushed.
This image, like a number of the images in my Donegal Gallery was taken at Fanad Head near the Lighthouse. When you have such a dramatic landscape with equally dramatic weather it is hard not to come away with some compelling images. Just a short walk from the Lighthouse along very exposed cliffs you are greeted with a scene like this one, of plunging cliffs and the wild Atlantic Ocean crashing upon them.
