Guess where I was this weekend? If you guessed the botanical gardens give yourself a slap on the back. Yes one of my favorite locations for shooting my floral images must be our National Botanic Gardens.
The Calla Lily must be one of my favorite flowers. It has been a long time since I have attempted captured an image of this Lily as it is one of those flowers I find difficult to do justice too. However I came across a large bed of these outside one of the greenhouses I felt compelled to try. And this is the result. Rather then capturing the full flower I focused on some of the details – the subtle pattern in the Spathe (ne Petal to you and me) and the Spadix (ne Stamen) just peeping above the folds.
