A bubbling brooke deep in the woods of the Dublin Montains in Ireland surrounded by moss covered rocks, the hazy light from the setting sun spills through the trees in the background.
Another image from the archives although not so far into the hazy past as the last image I shared with you. This was captured during a wander around a forest located in the Dublin mountains in July 2008.
I remember being very excited at the time as I was out with my brand new camera, a Canon 40D and I had also just received my first set of filters.
I would love to say this was a well planned trip to an area I new but it wasn’t. I simply emerged out of the thick forest in to this silent moss covered oassis with its very own bubbling brooke. Initially I was setting up just to photograph the water using my new ND’s but as I was arranging myself this beautiful shaft of light penetrated the trees in front of me. I had just moments to arrange a composition and shoot before the shaft became a memory and the forest resumed it’s quite slumber.
Many viewers have described this as that “Lord of the Rings” picture, expecting Frodo and Sam to walk into the frame at any moment 🙂
