A 5am start to any day is never easy, even harder when you’re on holidays. But when the day starts like this, that early rise and one hour drive is all worthwhile.
This was taken along the Promenade in Torrevieja in the south of Spain just as the sun was cresting the water. You can see the warm morning light kissing the left side of the wooden planks and rocks.
Using a combination of a Polarizer, a 2 and a 3 stop ND filters I was able to expose the image over 60 seconds which adds that dramatic movement in the clouds along with the silky smoothness in a very choppy sea.
I have done 2 versions of the image, both a colour one and a B&W. Not yet sure which I prefer.
Which do you prefer?
